PLASTIC MEDIA BLASTING
Used
to rapidly strip material adhered to sensitive surfaces,
dry-stripping, as it is called, was developed by Clemco
Industries. Plastic media is a light-weight,
low-density, non-aggressive media that can remove coatings
from delicate surfaces without damage to the surface.
DRY STRIPPING
Research into dry-stripping was prompted by a desire to
eliminate chemical stripping with all of its personal and
environmental safety concerns. Having started with soft
plastics, Clemco now offers dry-stripping solutions using
natural materials like bicarbonate of soda and starch.
The nature of plastic beads allows for its recovery after
being separated from the paint, dirt, decals, rust, and other
debris, which drastically reduces the cost of operation by
allowing the operation to reuse it.
PLASTIC MEDIA BLASTING SUPPLIES
There are two broad categories of dry-strip equipment,
manual cabinets for small parts where the stripping is
performed by an operator handling a blast gun, and secondly,
blast rooms. Complete dry strip rooms provide aircraft,
truck and automobile refinishing operations to work rapidly
in a controlled environment while easily recovering the used
plastic media.
In either case, a stand-alone cabinet with media recovery and
dust collector, or a complete room, our engineering TECHTEAM
together with Clemco Industries can develop an automated
solution to maximize the return on your dry stripping
investment.
